Daughter of Royalty

You may be thinking, “Ah, Daughter of Royalty, sounds like another fairytale to me.” You think that the whole fairytale idea is nothing but fantasy; you may not see your life as a beautiful fairytale. “You think that you are far from being a princess, and the idea that your life is ever going to end happily-ever-after is just a pipe dream based on false hopes. But in the midst of our pain and our dashed hopes, there is Jesus, the hero of our story, and he is faithful and true. In all of our stories, no matter how bleak or shameful they may seem, they lead us to him, the Lover of our Souls and he is not done with us yet. The last page of our book has yet to be turned. We don’t doubt that he is real, and we don’t doubt that true love and joy can only be found in his arms, but sometimes our feelings about ourselves seem to get in the way from what we know to what we believe.”(Her Treasures)
Read on and allow yourself the privilege of placing yourself emotionally in this story. Allow these words of truth to wash over you and settle into your heart as he pursues you with a relentless and passionate love.

Called
He said, “Arise, come my darling; my beautiful one, come with me. Come show me your face, let me hear your voice, for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely. I have come to bind up your broken heart and comfort you in your mourning. I have come to clothe you with a garment of salvation and array you in a robe of righteousness. I will adorn you with jewels.
Forgiven
Yes, you are a sinner and have fallen short of my glory, but I have justified you freely by my grace and redemption. You are no longer condemned—I have come to set you free from sin and death. I redeem you through my blood, and I forgive your sins. I purge away your dross and remove your impurities. I have made you ready. You are my workmanship created in me to do good works. Your eye cannot see, your ear cannot hear, your mind cannot conceive what I have prepared for you.”
Blessed
He then took me to the banquet hall. My feet closely followed his steps. I kept to his way without turning aside. I did not depart from the commands of his lips. He placed a banner of love over me. He allured me and spoke tenderly to me. He said, “You may now approach me with freedom and confidence.” It was then that I saw myself through his eyes. . .I was glorious, my gown was interwoven with gold. I was led to the king—with joy and gladness. I entered the palace of the king. He raised me up with him and seated me with him in the heavenly realms. Then he adorned me with jewels and adorned my head like a priest. He said, “I call you holy. I have chosen you to be holy and blameless in my sight. This is in accordance with my pleasure and will. I will mark you as mine with a seal, my promised Holy Spirit. It is a deposit that guarantees your inheritance. You are righteous, holy, and redeemed. You are now a royal priesthood; you belong to me. I call you out of darkness and into my light. You are mine and will reign with me for a thousand years.”
Crowned
Then he bestowed on me a crown of splendor in his hand, a royal diadem. He bestowed on me a crown of beauty instead of ashes, he anointed me with the oil of gladness instead of mourning. He gave me a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. He called me an oak of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor. Then everlasting joy crowned my head. Gladness and joy overtook me and my sorrow and sighing fled.
Changed
And then I knew; I was able to grasp how wide—how long— how high—and how deep was his love for me. “I am a new creation, the old is gone, the new has come. I now have a new heart and a new spirit living within me. I am no longer impure; I am clean. Changed forever. I am his child, a daughter of the King. Yes, I am a daughter of royalty, a princess, and I am forever his, the bride of Christ.
And as I gazed upon his beauty, I cried. . . “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty!”
